Research shows, that people feel much better in spaces connected to the past and history. By choosing Glamping Paradise Škatlar, you will undoubtedly feel the breath of the past and centuries of stories intertwined with Slovenian viticulture. In a wooden wine cottage from 1810, we have provided you with furnishings and additional descriptions that will allow you to experience the Slovenian soul and the magnificent history of one of the smallest European nations during your stay. What can you find in it?
\nThe verses of \\"Zdravljica,\\" the most beautiful national anthem in Europe, written by the greatest Slovenian poet France Prešeren in 1844, toasts to all European nations wishing to live together in peace and harmony. The Princely Stone symbolically represents ancient Slovenian identity, particularly statehood since it was the place where Carantanian dukes and later Carinthian dukes were enthroned during the Middle Ages. The oldest flute in the world confirms the Slovenians\\'' dedication to music, our exceptional treasury of folk songs, and our success in choral music. Through the Situla and glass berries, which are housed in the Dolenjska Museum in Novo Mesto, you will discover that the inhabitants of present-day Dolenjska were true European aristocrats during the Flourishing Hallstatt Period (400-600 BCE). Of course, one of the greatest symbols of Slovenia, Mount Triglav, the highest peak in Slovenia (2864 m), cannot be missed. It is featured in the national coat of arms and on almost all national insignia. Our exceptional athletes, who are the pride of Slovenia, represent themselves with it, as we Slovenians are considered one of the most sporty nations.
\nThe motif of grapes and diligent peasant hands exemplifies the millennium-long resilience of the small Slovenian people who lived on this land under various rulers until 1991 when they fought for their own independent state. Besides love for the homeland, the people of Dolenjska have an immense love for the vine. Their greatest pride is Cviček, a unique European wine. It pairs perfectly with homemade dry salamis, which you can taste best from the locals in the area. The beehive panel on the wall represents the board that closes the beehive and symbolizes Slovenian beekeeping, which is highly developed in Slovenia and is listed as intangible cultural heritage by UNESCO.
\nThe wooden wine cottage offers a unique experience where tradition and modern comfort intertwine effortlessly. It features a small kitchen with two stoves, an electric oven, a table for two, a bedroom with a high-quality mattress that comfortably accommodates two guests, and a bathroom. In front of the wooden shrine, there is a large terrace where you can relax on special loungers or enjoy a snack on unique chairs and a table made from wooden barrels. For ultimate relaxation, there is also a massage tub and a Finnish sauna, both offering exceptional views.
\nOne of the highlights of your stay is the opportunity to sleep on dried hay under a thatched roof. It\\''s a truly special experience that connects you with the rustic charm of the past.
\nUpon arrival, the host invites you to the cellar from 1848, where you can enjoy a tasting of local wines, homemade bread, and cured meat products. Guests receive a key to the wine cellar and can pour wine themselves for an additional fee. Seasonal vegetables and fruits from the garden are also available.
\nFor guests staying more than 5 days, the host invites them to the homestead. There, they are introduced to the life of the Dolenjska countryside in the past and present, as well as a 20-minute multimedia presentation called \\"The Story of Cviček.\\" The host presents the tourist offer and life in Dolenjska and Slovenia during dinner and wine tasting.
\nThe surrounding area offers numerous possibilities for walks, hikes, enjoying pristine nature, swimming in the Krka River, exploring excellent local cuisine, visiting Šmarješke Toplice Thermal Spa, playing golf at Otočec Golf Course, and discovering the rich cultural and natural heritage of Dolenjska and Slovenia. During the winter season, we recommend visiting Gače Ski Resort, which is 40 km away from the vineyards.
\nUpon prior arrangement, we can also organize sound baths (gongs, crystal bowls, various instruments...), Indian head massages, acupressure massages on a special ergonomic chair, apitherapy, electric bike rentals, and vintage car rides through the wine-growing hills.
\nThe possibility of using an electric charging station and combining the rental with Škatlar 1***, 2***, and 3**** vineyard cottages located nearby.
\nWe eagerly await your arrival at our unique wooden shrine, where comfort, peace, and an unforgettable experience await you.
